TurnFriendly's digital accessibility project is moving forward.
Specialists from EYE-ABLE gave us valuable insights and identified real opportunities for improvement in an intensive accessibility workshop.
Who is affected?
- More than half a million people with visual impairments in Germany alone
- Almost one in ten people in Germany has a colour vision deficiency
- Soon, one in two people will be over 50
What are the results?
- Better usability for everyone
- Greater accessibility for people with disabilities
- A strong signal of inclusion and social responsibility
Highlights from the workshop
- Legal requirements: An overview of key requirements and how we meet them.
- Test methodology and checks: How we test accessibility and check our software against WCAG standards.
- Screen reader tests: Practical testing with JAWS and NVDA to improve the experience for visually impaired users.
- Best practices: Implementing keyboard tab navigation, HTML attributes and structural page regions for better accessibility.
We will keep working on this and share further updates. Stay tuned!
